About Me
Hello! I’m Ruth from Jubilee Music Studio, and I’ve been teaching piano for over 30 years. I hold Associate and Licentiate diplomas from Trinity College London (LTCL & ATCL) and am a Certified and Licensed Musikgarten Instructor. I began piano study at age 7 and started teaching private lessons in 1987, first as a teaching assistant and later in my own studio.
I teach students of all ages — children, teens, adults, and seniors — with flexible session lengths (30, 45, 60, 75, and 95 minutes). Lessons are fully tailor-made to each student’s goals, focusing on piano technique, reading, repertoire, ear training, and music theory.
I discovered Musikgarten in 2001 and have taught all levels of its programs. I served as a Music Circle Teacher Trainer (2003–2006) and have been a clinician for Young Pianist Music Camps in Malaysia. Musikgarten lessons are creative, movement-rich, and suitable for students of all ages.
Beyond teaching, I am active in the piano teacher community and serve as a church pianist. My goal is to develop a strong musical foundation in every student while making learning engaging, enjoyable, and inspiring.

Ruth has been my children's piano teacher for the 3 years when we were in LA. My 15 year old daughter, connected with her immediately. responding to her warmth and her enthusiastic, supportive approach. Ruth would expose her to various music that she really likes. As for my 8 year old daughter, she likes Ruth as her piano teacher as Ruth is very patient and would use different ways to teach her the musical concepts. My children had progress greatly in their piano lessons under Ruth's guidance. Not only that, they gained self-confidence. Ruth's passion for music and teaching is evident. I highly recommend her as a piano teacher.
